Nissan and PlayStation Announce GT Academy Fifth Season

nissanCar makers are now focusing on better ways to promote their vehicles and therefore top automakers like Nissan have joined hands with Sony Play Station that allows them to offer much more to their consumers and fans. Nissan and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe have made an announcement that they will continue the GT Academy competition for the fifth season this year. The companies together announced that this year the competition will be bigger and better than the earlier four seasons because more countries will be participating in it and the online gaming element will become much interesting this year.


Nissan and Sony said that they have seen good response for the competition since its inception in the year 2008.

Darren Cox Nissan Director of Global Motorsport said that the highly acclaimed virtual to reality competition has attracted more than two million entries so far and that only shows that the competition is loved by many people across the world. He said that every single year of GT Academy provides better excitement and fun to the participants and the year 2013 will be no exception where the fun and excitement will be high. He also revealed that the selection process has improved in the last few years and therefore they are able to pick out some really fast car drivers.

Kazunori Yamauchi President of Polyphony Digital said that GT Academy is a perfect destination for those who love car racing and for the GT community and therefore there are more people joining it every year. He said that the company is proud to be associated with Nissan as they deliver some of the best vehicles on the road that can race through various platforms. He said that the people are anticipating for the new demo of Gran Turismo 6 game that will be unveiled at the event exclusively for PS3 platform.
